Summary of the House Committee Version of the Bill

HCS SB 981 -- STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

SPONSOR:  Goodman (Behnen)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Crime Prevention and Public Safety by a vote of 10 to 0.

This substitute allows the Superintendent of the State Highway
Patrol to establish guidelines under which members of the patrol
may be employed in another position.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2007, FY 2008, and
FY 2009.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill will give highway
patrolmen other options to earn additional money for their
families.

Testifying for the bill were Senator Goodman; and Missouri State
Troopers Association.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
